AROUND 560 students from the four municipalities in the island of Camotes, Cebu received scholarships from Fifth District Rep. Vincent Franco "Duke" Frasco.
In a Facebook post, Saturday, July 4, 2020, Frasco said the Duke scholarship program distributes P2.3 million worth of scholarships to the Municipalities of San Francisco, Poro, Tudela, and Pilar.
He said the assistance will help them in their enrollment and their school needs.
"To help our #youth adjust to life in the new normal, we have kept our commitment to prioritizing #EDUCATION in the 5th District by distributing over Php 2.3 Million in scholarships to all 4 Municipalities in the Camotes Islands," reads a portion of his post.
He said the distribution of the scholarships was delayed since March due to the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine that caused limited movement.
However, as the Province shifted to modified general community quarantine, he said they are finding ways to make good on their promise to help the education of the youth.
"Recovering from the ravages of Covid-19 will be difficult. What’s important is that we move forward with caution, and as we do, help our youth heal and give them the confidence to still accomplish their dreams," he said.(WBS)
