A WOMAN was found dead with her head nearly severed in San Fernando, Cebu yesterday morning.
Police are looking for her live-in partner, who is believed to be responsible for stabbing her inside their house in Barangay Panadtaran.
At 9:40 a.m., police received a call from Barangay Councilor Edward Natividad, who reported that a woman was found dead inside her house.
A team led by Senior Insp. Jaime Santillan went to the area some three kilometers away.
They found a bio-date sheet inside the house, which identifies the woman as 26-year-old Maricel Arufo.
The bio-data sheet also states that she once worked for a bakeshop and that she hailed from Sitio Tugbungan, Garcia Hernandez, Bohol.
Police who responded to the scene found her bloodied and her neck slashed.
A kitchen knife with a bent blade was found on the floor.
PO3 Marjukin Misuari of the San Fernando Police Station said they are looking for a man identified as Benjie, her live-in partner.
He is reportedly a member of the Guardians brotherhood.
Residents don’t know his last name since the couple has not lived in the area for long.
A photo police recovered inside the house also showed the couple with a child, which led Misuari to believe the child is theirs.
Based on reports from neighbors, the couple argued a lot.
Although Benjie remains at large, Misuari said there have been surrender feelers sent to Councilor Natividad.
Arufo’s remains were taken to the St. Anne Funeral Parlor.
