ANOTHER frontliner in Negros Occidental tested positive for the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The Municipal Covid-19 Task Force has confirmed that the 26-year-old male frontliner from Barangay 1 in Pontevedra, who is the second patient of the town, had a contact history with the first patient.

The patient, who is asymptomatic, is a member of the municipal rescue team and underwent a swab test on June 25 along with some locally stranded individuals, according to Charina Magallanaes Tan, spokesperson of the Provincial Incident Management Team.

She said the patient and his family have been brought to the E.B. Magalona quarantine facility.

Major Jose Maria Alonso, in an executive order, has ordered the implementation of local community lockdown in 57 households in Barangay 1 and Barangay DSB starting Sunday, July 5.

Last week, an ambulance driver of the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division was also tested positive for coronavirus.
