AN ESTIMATED P150,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in various areas in the city over the weekend.
The operations led to the arrest of Ruel Barillo, 42, of Barangay Singcang Airport; Jessre Lorana, 20, of Barangay 10; Benjie Dujale, 25, of Barangay 1; Renante Rojo, 38, and John Leo Cadosale, 28, both residents of Barangay Felisa, all in Bacolod City.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Rojo and Cadosale were arrested by operatives of Police Station 10 led by Police Captain Armilyn Vargas in Totong 4, Barangay Felisa at 1:03 a.m. Sunday, November 17.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were three sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P6,000 and the P200 marked money.
Pico said Lorana and Dujale were also arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 led by Police Major Sherlock Gabana around 3 a.m. on the same day in Purok Magti-ayon, Barangay 10.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were seven sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P120,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Pico said Lorana was included in BCPO’s drug watchlist.
He said Barillo, who was identified as a high-value target, was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 led by Police Major Jovil Sedel at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, November 16, in Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang Airport.
Recovered from Barillo’s possession were 10 sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P24,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1, 2 and 10 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, an estimated P82,500 worth of shabu was also seized in separate Oplan Sita operations by operatives of Police Station 4 in Bacolod City over the weekend.
The operations led to the arrest of Jepren Arce, 36, of Barangay 27; Reginald Alarcon, 24, of Barangay Estefania; and Rogelio Ong, 25, of Barangay Tisa, Roxas, Capiz City.
Pico said Police Station 4 was conducting Oplan Sita along Purok Star Apple 2, Barangay 27 when Arce was caught throwing some plastic sachets of shabu around 1:10 a.m. Sunday.
Recovered from Arce’s possession were 11 sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P60,000.
Alarcon and Ong, who were on board a motorcycle, were also arrested after they tried to escape in front of the Gymnasium in Barangay Montevista around 3:10 a.m. Saturday.
Recovered from the suspects’ possession were two plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated market value of P22,500 and several empty plastic sachets.
The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and are facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
