IATF lifts ban on non-essential travel by Filipinos

ALL restrictions on non-essential outbound travel by Filipinos have been lifted by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

“Lahat ng travel restrictions na may kinalaman sa mga outbound travel ng mga Pilipino ay inalis na rin po,” Roque said in a televised public briefing.

Roque said that Filipinos who wish to travel must present several requirements to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

“Ang mangayayri po ay mag b-biyahe mayroon po tayong requirements na dapat ipakita sa atin Bureau of Immigration,” he said.

Under IATF’s Resolution no. 52, the non-essential travel by Filipinos shall be subject to the following conditions:

  • Submission of confirmed roundtrip tickets for those traveling on tourist visas;
  • Adequate travel health insurance to cover rebooking and accommodation expenses;
  • Allowed entry by the destination country in accordance with travel, health and quarantine restrictions;
  • Execution of a Declaration acknowledging the risk of the travel; and
  • Upon return, shall follow the guidelines of returning iverseas Filipinos of the National Task Force.
