MORE than 1,000 swab results for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) are currently pending for release at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital Molecular Laboratory in Silay City.
Lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II, provincial administrator, said the results are ready for release but some procedural requirements were not followed.
There is a problem with matching of the data with the persons, Diaz pointed out.
He said the Provincial Government wants to speed up the process and at the same time, improve accuracy.
This is all part of the birth pains of the laboratory because it just started operating for a month, he added.
Diaz said the faster the process, "the faster we can send our locally stranded individuals and overseas Filipino workers home."
All specimens taken in Negros Occidental are now examined at the laboratory of TLJPH and are not sent anymore to the West Visayas Medical Center sub- national laboratory in Iloilo City, he said.
