Drug suspect busted in Tacloban City

POLICE arrested on Tuesday, July 7, a drug suspect in a joint buy-bust operation in Tacloban City.

The suspect, 44-year-old driver Santiago “Tisoy” Kierulf, was arrested around 7 p.m. Tuesday in Zone 7, Barangay 59-Picas, Tacloban.

Kierulf was also on the drug watch list, according to the operatives from Tacloban City Police Office-Station 2 Drug Enforcement Unity led by Lieutenant Rey Baldicano Jr.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Eastern Visayas.

Purchased from Kierulf was one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, police said in a report.

Confiscated from his possession were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of the same substance with an estimated value of P14,500 and one P500 that was used as buy-bust money.

Major Daniel Polo, Police Station 2 commander, also conducted on-site inspection at the place of operation.

The suspect will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Philippines)
