THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula, in an effort to enhance the leadership skills of the 110 new commissioned officers, has conducted a two-day pre-deployment seminar to newly appointed police lieutenants.
The seminar was held from Tuesday, July 7 until Wednesday, July 8 at the multi-purpose hall of Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan, which houses the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula headquarters in Mercedes village, Zamboanga City.
Police Brigadier General Jesus Cambay, Jr., PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said Wednesday, July 8, that the seminar is aimed to acquaint the new police lieutenants on the knowledge of operational and administrative regional staffs before they will be deployed in various police units across the region.
Cambay reminded them to internalize the objective of the two-day seminar as he emphasized the U.S.T. acronym: Unity in Purpose Solidarity in Values and Teamwork.
“Know yourself, seek for self-improvement, know your men, look after the morale and welfare of his men and accomplish the mission,” Cambay added.
The newly assigned police lieutenants were oriented on the leadership functions of the different chiefs of office of PRO-Zamboanga Penisula staffs occupying the various administrative function such as Regional Personnel and Records Management Division, Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Operations and Management Division, Regional Logistics and Research Development Division, Regional Community Affairs and Development Division, Regional Comptrollership Division, Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division, Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division.
The 110 new police lieutenants, who were sworn in as commissioned officers through the Philippine National Police lateral entry program on March 25, 2019, is expected to beef up the total 472 strengths of police commissioned officers in the region. (SunStar Zamboanga)
