CDA ProAv Asia in the Philippines launches Krix

CDA ProAV Asia, one of the companies owned by Rick Dowel, made its debut in the Philippines through a soft launching event via Zoom on July 4, 2020.

With about 40 distinguished Filipino guests and two Australians from Krix Company, namely: Ashley Krix, business manager for cinema and Michael Cox, marketing manager. Gracing the show were two respected and seasoned local singers Chad Borja and Eric Diao.

One of the highlights of the event was a virtual tour around the Krix office and factory in Adelaide, Australia where Ashley Krix showed the showroom and the factory where Krix speakers are finely and carefully made by no less than experts in audio-visual technology.

Another relevant highlight was the presentation on”Cinepreneurship,” a term coined by Mary Angela Moore, CDA ProAV’s business development consultant for the Philippines.

Cinepreneurship is an idea of reinventing cinema through a concept called “cinema beyond borders” to allow movie enthusiasts to enjoy movies during this new normal.

Angela presented refreshing and interesting thematic cinema ideas that can be adopted in the Philippine milieu, adding enchantment, joy, nostalgia, and evoking all sorts of wonderful and novel experiences to the cinema goers.

The event started with a heartwarming and inspiring welcome from the managing director of CDA ProAV Asia, Rick Dowel. The doxology was prepared by Francis Abner Abanilla, and managing the technicals during the event was Joey Montelibano.

Veblen Goods - Snob Effect

Krix products are Veblen goods. They are too exclusive and are too different from the commonly preferred ones. They are appreciated and desired only by people with insatiable taste for high quality audio-visual cinema equipment. Its price and quality give it a snob appeal which makes it attractive only to the wealthy. Thus, it is something of a status symbol.

Krix, manufacturer of elite speakers, has enjoyed sustained success through 46 years. It is a family company that originated and is still based in Adelaide’s southern suburbs. It has a standing record of supplying excellent commercial movie speakers to 3,500 cinemas in 30 countries, and thousands and thousands in private homes.

The secret to its undisputed success is its company culture that is based on exceeding the best speaker in the world. It maybe a little pricier than others, but Krix products can go decades without the wear and tear. In the long run, the customers still get optimum value for their money.
