I am with my family and my manager nga taga-Canada nga na-lockdown pud because of the pandemic.
Asa ka nagpuyo karon?
I stay here sa condo nako sa Quezon City and sometimes sa balay nako sa Tandang Sora sa Q.C.
Unsay gipangbuhat nimo karong quarantine?
Nag-guesting ko sa mga digital show sa Manila like sa Wowowin. I did some online charity shows to provide PPE for our medical frontliners and para sa uban natong mga kababayan nga nanginahanglan og tabang.
Kumusta imong health? Tinuod na-cancer ka?
Yes, I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in 2016. I have not talked about it until I was not declared as fully healed. It was complete thyroidectomy and I am doing well now. I’m cancer-free after a successful operation. I’m just so grateful nga maayo akong mga doctor sa Cebu nga gipangulohan ni Dr. Antonio “Jun” Yapha.
Imong unica hija, kumusta?
My daughter Sweety is 17 years old now. She is in highschool in Houston Texas. A consistent honor student and a member of National Honor Society.
Nakabisita na ka sa imong hometown?
Yes. Pagkamatay sa akong papa pag-January nitambong gyud ko sa iyang lubong sa Carcar. Mama is doing okay. She is 59 years old now.
As a former Kapamilya artist unsay imong reaction sa nahitabo karon sa ABS-CBN?
Mixed emotion gyud ko since, you know, I really started in ABS-CBN. They’ve always been very supportive with my career even when I was already in America. When I did my comeback concert they were still there and really acknowledged me being a true-blue Kapamilya. My heart goes for them.
Unsay tan-aw nimo ma-renew pa ni ilang franchise?
Wa kaayo ko ka-follow sa congressional hearings but I have so much faith in God. I pray that ABS-CBN will be granted with a new franchise. Sa akong mga kaubang Kapamilya artist, staff and crew just keep praying and stay strong no matter what.
Any upcoming shows?
We are currently building my official YouTube Channel where they can find my music and vlogs and the real side of me as well. That’s why it’s called “Sheryn Regis Keeping It Real.” I also have an upcoming web series but I can’t talk about it for now since my producers are still working on the pilot episode.
After 20 years in the industry, how are you?
God is just so good that I am always thriving despite the ever changing landscape of the entertainment industry. All I want is just to enjoy whatever I have now amid this pandemic. After surviving cancer and still being able to sing is such a great blessing. And for those who still appreciate my music is something to be grateful for.
