Benguet religious gatherings for 10 people only

BENGUET OFFICIALS reiterated religious gatherings are good only for 10 persons at a time as the province has reverted to the General Community Quarantine until July 15.

Governor Melchor Diclas said gatherings including religious events is limited to 10 persons only in accordance with the Inter Agency Task Force for Covid-19.

Diclas said “Mass gatherings such as but not limited to concerts, sporting events and other entertainment activities, community assemblies, and non-essential work gatherings be prohibited. Religious gatherings shall be allowed up to 10 percent of the seating capacity or up to 10 persons after July 10.”

On July 6, the governor said religious gatherings is limited to the conduct of worship and service, with the approval of the local government unit where the gathering will take place.

Religious institutions must also strictly follow observance of minimum public health standards.

In Benguet’s capital town, amidst the community quarantine, masses and worship sessions are conducted online through social media.

The Local Government Unit reiterated churches are allowed to open but limited to a maximum of 10 persons only.

Due to the increase in number of recorded new confirmed cases for Covid-19 the province was placed back to GCQ, the Governor stated the increase in number of positive cases are attributed to the expanded testing conducted in the province.

Most of the recent recorded confirmed cases involve frontliners.
