Cash aid distribution for 4Ps members nears completion

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development-Central Visayas (DSWD 7) is at 97.33 percent in its coverage for the distribution of the second tranche of cash assistance for members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps.)

In a post on its official website July 8, 2020, the DSWD 7 said a total of 145,554 out of 147,406 4Ps members have received their P4,650 emergency cash subsidy as of July 4.

The P4,650 serves as a top-up amount to the beneficiaries’ regular cash grant of P1,350, which includes a health grant of P750 and P600 rice subsidy.

Of those who have received their top-up amount, a total of 143,626 are 4Ps beneficiaries who have Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) cash card accounts. They have withdrawn their emergency cash subsidy through automated teller machines.

The 1,928 are non-cash card 4Ps beneficiaries who have received their cash aid via direct payout scheme.

Likewise, Leah Quintana, DSWD 7 information officer, said about 1,227 waitlisted family beneficiaries in Cebu Province, specifically in Consolacion, Compostela Oslob and Liloan have claimed their P6,000 cash aid under the Social Amelioration Program.

Earlier, the department said a total of 149,579 waitlisted family beneficiaries in the region are expected to receive their cash aid.

The waitlisted beneficiaries are those eligible low-income families who were not included in and provided with the emergency subsidy by the DSWD and other government agencies for the first tranche.

Meanwhile, the DSWD 7 has yet to start the payout for the 585,376 non-4Ps, low-income households in Cebu province and highly urbanized cities that are initially qualified for the second tranche which is equivalent to about P3.5 billion. (WBS)
