CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - A fire engulfed the multi-purpose building of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon in Camp Olivas this city on late Thursday evening, July 9, 2020.

The Pana Hall, which is a venue for meetings, conferences, training and other official gatherings of PRO-Central Luzon, has just been renovated into a state-of-the-art building prior to the fire, said PRO-Central Luzon Regional Director Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia.

Aside from gatherings, Sermonia said the building also serves as the studio of public service program "Rektang Konek, Aksyon Agad" which helps dozens of individuals.

The facility also housed the mini food bank of "Rektang Bayanihan" where boxes and sacks of relief goods are stored, he added.

"What is more heartbreaking is the relief goods that are intended to help our needy kababayans in Central Luzon have turned into ashes due to the fire," Sermonia said.

As of this writing, the Bureau of Fire Protection has yet to determine the cause and the estimated cost of damage brought about by the fire.
