Tagoloan resident is the new Covid case in Misamis Oriental

A 61-YEAR-OLD male from Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental was tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, which causes coronavirus disease (Covid-19), and was admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC).

According to NMMC medical specialist Dr. Bernard Rocha, the 61-year-old man came from Cebu and arrived in Iligan City via sea travel.

He showed symptoms of the virus such as cough, fever and shortness of breath during the first week of July.

From Iligan City, the 61-year-old man took a taxi going to a hospital in Tagoloan. He was brought to the NMMC, swabbed and tested positive.

He was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (moderate risk) and hypertension stage 2.

At present, the man is in a stable condition with no fever but he is still on auto-support.

The 59-year-old Covid-positive female from Barangay Canitoan who was transferred from the city isolation unit and admitted at the NMMC was discharged on Thursday, July 9, after the complications concerning her comorbidities were treated.

The woman, who is currently in a stable condition, was transported to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility to continue her quarantine.

The NMMC has also recorded four patients who have tested negative for the virus. One of them is a 30-year-old male from Cagayan de Oro City who died due to a vehicular incident.

The other three patients, who are from outside Cagayan de Oro, are a 67-year-old female, a 50-year-old female and a 61-year-old male.

Meanwhile, four asymptomatic Covid-positive patients from Misamis Oriental have recovered and were recently discharged from the isolation facility.

Residents from Claveria, Initao, Tagolaon and Gingoog City were discharged on July 5, July 8, July 10, and July 8, respectively.
