Abandoned truck ordered removed following 3 accidents

THE Talisay City Police Station has ordered the removal of an abandoned truck along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road after it caused three separate accidents, one of which became fatal on Thursday night, July 9, 2020.

Based on records released by the city's police force, the truck had been involved in two accidents on June 15, wherein the victim suffered serious injuries; and another on June 17, which caused a fatality.

In the latest incident, which happened on Thursday, Ramil Banares was killed after the motorcycle he was driving slammed into the back of the abandoned truck.

Police said the abandoned truck had been stuck in the roadside for over a month already due to a mechanical problem.

Talisay police added they have already talked with the truck's owner, who agreed to help in the removal of the vehicle to prevent any further incidents in the area. The truck owner has also agreed to pay for the burial and medical needs of the victims in the three accidents.
