CAGAYAN de Oro has recorded two new recoveries and coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19) cases, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 19 and total cases to 90.
According to Dr. Lorraine Nery, the officer-in-charge of the City Health Office, the 85th case, a 21-year-old male, locally stranded individual (LSI) from Santa Mesa, Manila, was re-tagged after it was found out that his permanent address is in Lumbayao, Baugan, Lanao del Sur.
Among the two recovered patients is the 29th case, an asymptomatic 22-year-old female LSI from Makati whose residence is in a numbered barangay. She was first swabbed on June 23 and the test result, which came out on June 26, yielded positive for Covid-19.
She was reswabbed on July 8 and her result came out negative on July 10.
The second recovered patient is the 31st case, a 47-year-old returning overseas Filipino worker and a resident of Upper Nazareth. His repeat swab test result came out negative on July 10.
City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said the focused containment in Upper Nazareth will be lifted on Sunday, July 12.
One of the two new Covid-19 confirmed cases, the 89th case, is a 57-year-old male LSI from Taguig City and a resident of Barangay Bonbon. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on July 2 and was brought to the City isolation unit.
The patient is asymptomatic and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.
According to Retuya, they were able to identify two close contacts of the 57-year-old man, both of whom are the patient's co-passengers.
The 90th case is a 40-year-old female LSI from Malate, Manila and a resident of Barangay Puntod. Retuya said the woman stayed in Blumentritt when Manila was still under enhanced community quarantine.
She was swabbed in Tondo, Manila on June 16 and the result came out negative. The woman arrived at the Laguindingan Airport on July 2 and was swabbed on July 6. However, Retuya said the swab result was invalid.
The 40-year-old man was reswabbed on July 8 and the result, which came out on July 10, yielded positive.
The patient is asymptomatic and is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.
Meanwhile, the result of the repeat swab test of the 30th case, a 19-year-old female LSI from Pasay City, came out positive. Her next swab is scheduled to be conducted on July 15, Retuya said.
The repeat test of the Authorized Person Outside Residence (APOR) from Cebu came out positive. The patient is currently staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.
