MANILA -- Environment Secretary Horacio Ramos on Tuesday assured residents of Metro Manila that the water supply is enough to last until June.
The estimate came even if the water elevation in Angat Dam is still below normal. As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, the dam’s elevation was 182.26 meters, which is 8.37 meters below the normal level of 190.63 meters.
Angat Dam supplies 97 percent of Metro Manila's potable water requirements.
The secretary also announced during the press briefing that the water consumption of the department slipped by 12 percent in response to the government’s 10-percent conservation measure.
