P590,000 marijuana eradicated in Kibungan

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives destroyed P590,000 worth of marijuana in three different areas in Kibungan, Benguet over the weekend.

On Sunday, July 12, personnel of Kibungan Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Benguet Provincial Police Office conducted eradication operation in Sitio Bagang, Tacadang.

In the first site, the team was able to eradicate an estimated 200 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants planted within an area of 600 square meters, while 1,250 fully grown marijuana plants were found in the second site, planted within an estimated land area of 250 square meters.

Another 1,500 fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated land area of 300 square meters were also destroyed in the third site.

All marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on site.

Police did not arrest any cultivators.
