P90,000 shabu seized in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City

AN ESTIMATED P90,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 5 in Purok BM, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City Sunday evening, July 12, 2020.

The operation led to the arrest of Elmer Areglo, 52, of Barangay Taculing.

Police Captain John Christopher Masangkay, chief of Police Station 5, said Areglo was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 6:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Areglo’s possession 16 sachets of shabu, the P300 marked money and P500 cash.

Masangkay said the suspect was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
