Encoding of SAP cards ongoing for 2nd tranche distribution

THE encoding of social amelioration cards (SAC) on the level of the local government units (LGUs) is still ongoing for the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

Regional Director Ma. Evelyn Macapobre of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said that without the complete SAC encoding, the agency could not finish the duplicity check of the SAP beneficiaries.

As of July 13, out of 1,132,249 non-Pantawid beneficiaries, only 981,800 SAC forms or 86.71 percent have been encoded.

Macapobre said the LGUs are only given until July 15 to finish their SAC encoding.

Meanwhile, Macapobre said more than 19,000 additional or left-out families in Western Visayas have already received their P6,000 SAP assistance from the DSWD Field Office VI.

Macapobre said the agency was already able to payout to 19,278 additional families in 24 towns as of July 13.

It includes four towns in Aklan, nine in Capiz, five in Negros Occidental, and four in Guimaras.

Each beneficiary also received P6,000 SAP assistance.
