YOU become the five people you most hang out with as the saying goes. That just how life goes. We tend to pick up on the habits and small things that the people around you have. It's not necessarily mean that they have to be the most important or closest people in your life. However, if you want to continuously grow and balance every aspect in your adulting life, you need these five people:
Peers- These are the people who are around you more often than not. Your clique. Your gang. They help you out in social situations. Like-minded folks who share the same passions and goals with you.
Cheerleader- When you could not believe in yourself yet, this person already talks you in. Your confidence and positive reinforcement provider when you are doubting yourself.
Friend – Someone who understands the least desires of your heart. Someone you can talk about everything and is always there to listen. They know your truest form but is still there. Someone who can think exactly like you, but in a different way.
Mentor – This person points you in the right direction. Someone who has the willingness to share knowledge on how you can further develop yourself. Someone who is wiser than you. Preferably older than you and someone who understands your work and shares the same values. You can find them in different people based on the different fields and seasons of your life. Those people who can make you feel safe in a friendly conversation rather than acting prophetic and omniscient. Because that's when it becomes more hard-hitting and effective. Having a mentor means you need to have a teachable heart.
Coach – Ahem! Kind of resembles a mentor, but this character is a little bit towards and closer your age. Someone who can make you uncomfortable and will push you to break limits and out of your shell. They will never hold back their punches to make you better--whether it's getting better at your craft, in your relationships and whatnot. Real talk one-hundred and no caps!
