CITY OF SAN FERNANDO--The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-Central Luzon launched the Hybrid Rice Varietal Derby on Tuesday at Central Luzon State University (CLSU) compound in the Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija.
This is in coordination with the CLSU, Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), Provincial Agriculture Office of Nueva Ecija and City Agricultural Office of Munoz
The purpose of the activity is to showcase the potentials by applying the best cultural management and practices during the wet season of different hybrid rice varieties used under the Rice Resiliency Project of the Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat kontra Covid-19 or also known as Plant Plant Plant Program.
Seven seed companies participated in the said activity namely: Corteva Agriscience, Bioseed Research Phil. Inc., Bayer, LongPing, SeedWorks, Syngenta, SL Agritech Corporation.
DA-RFO-Central Luzon OIC-Regional Executive Director Crispulo G. Bautista, Jr. said that they will continuously update the farmers of Central Luzon regarding the progress of the hybrid varieties from planting up to harvesting stage.
