THE 1st Infantry Division’s (1ID) staff officers and platoon leaders, a key personalities and salient ground forces, has undergone a two-day symposium aimed to boost its Civil Military and Ground Operations.
The symposium on Civil Military Operations Family Conference and the Platoon Leaders Combat Proficiency were held Tuesday, July 14, 2020, in Camp Cesar Sang-an, which houses the 1ID headquarters in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
Colonel Pompeyo Jason Almagro, 1ID chief of staff, has challenged the participants to be open-minded and to think “outside the box” to achieve any given task.
Almagro further urged the officers to serve with dedication and passion.
Major General Generoso Ponio, commander of the 1ID, advised participants to remain professional in dealing with the constituents in the area of responsibility.
“We can accomplish our mission if we work as a team and partner with the local chief executives, NGOs (non-government organizations), NGAs (non-government associations) and other stakeholders,” Ponio said.
He further advised them to also apprise their subordinates on what they have learned in the two days symposium. (SunStar Zamboanga)
