THE number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases in Minalin, Pampanga continues to spike up, as four more persons tested positive for the virus on Wednesday, July 15.

Mayor Edgar Flores said the first two cases, patient 9 and 10, are both close contact of patient 6, who was the second Covid-19 fatality of the town.

Flores said patient 9 is a 71-year-old man, while patient 10 is a 12-year-old girl. Both are considered asymptomatic.

Moreover, patient 11 -- a 48-year-old woman -- and patient 12 -- a 53-year-old man -- were infected by patient 4. They are also both asymptomatic.

Flores said all patients were already brought to a government health facility for isolation as the local government conducts its new sets of contact tracing activity.

The mayor also noted that the virus is still concentrated in Barangay Sto. Domingo as all patients reside in the said area.

Meanwhile, Flores reported that 44 individuals who were identified to have recent interaction with the patients 1 to 6 has tested negative for the virus.
