More than 1K job postings at Peso Mandaue

THE Public Employment and Services Office (Peso) of Mandaue City has closed the application for job openings offered by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) after having accommodated over 600 applicants.

On July 7, 2020, Peso Mandaue posted on its Facebook page that the PSA was looking for 400 statistical researchers, 15 census area supervisors and a headquarter clerk.

Each is a contractual job with more than P500 salary per day, for three months.

Musoline Suliva, the Peso Mandaue head, told SunStar Cebu that they closed the application at noon of July 16.

They have received 657 applicants for statistical researcher and 40 applicants for census area supervisor.

These applicants still have to pass the qualifying exam.

The census area supervisor applicants took the exam on July 17, while the statistical researcher applicants will take the qualifying exam from July 20 to 24.

Suliva said the flock of applicants was due to the pandemic as there are more people who were displaced from their work.

He said there are more individuals visiting their office to look for jobs now, than before Covid-19.

Although some of the applicants may not get the job, Suliva said there is no need to worry as they still have more than 1,000 job postings in their office.

He encouraged the residents in Mandaue to visit their office for more job opportunities.

The Peso Mandaue is located on the third floor of Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It has more than 1,000 job openings from supermarkets and call centers to transportation and production companies. (KFD)
