Cagayan de Oro Covid-19 cases rise to 118

NINE new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases were recorded in Cagayan de Oro City, two of whom are returning overseas Filipino workers (ROF) and seven are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said.

The total number of confirmed cases in the city is now at 118.

The 110th case involves a 48-year-old male LSI and a resident of Barangay Patag. The man, who is retired uniformed personnel, went through a rapid diagnostic test in Manila and the result came out IgM-negative and IgG-positive.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on July 10 and was swabbed on July 16. The result came out positive on July 18.

The man is asymptomatic and currently staying in the city's Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF).

The 111th case is a 56-year-old female LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay 13. According to Retuya, the woman was swabbed on March 30 and the test yielded a negative result. She underwent a rapid diagnostic test on June 10 and the result also came out negative.

She was swabbed on June 25 and the result yielded negative. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 11 and was swabbed again on July 16.

The result came out positive on July 18. The woman is asymptomatic and is staying at the TTMF.

The 112th case is an 85-year-old male LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay 13. The man, Retuya said, is the father of the 111th case.

The man lived in Manila for three years together with his daughter. He went through a rapid diagnostic test and was swabbed.

Both yielded negative results.

He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on the same flight with his daughter on July 11. He was swabbed on July 16 and the result came out positive.

Retuya said the 85-year-old man is experiencing on and off fever, colds and cough. He was treated in the city isolation unit since July 11.

At present, he is staying in the city's Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 113th case is a 23-year-old male LSI from Quiapo, Manila and a resident of Barangay Bulua. He went through a rapid diagnostic test during the first week of July in Manila City Health Office. The result came out negative.

The man arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 10. He's asymptomatic and staying in the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 114th case is a 21-year-old female LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay 26. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 5 and was swabbed on July 10. The result came out negative on July 12.

According to Retuya, the woman's quarantine period was extended due to exposure with a positive patient a week ago.

She was re-swabbed in the city isolation unit on July 16 and the result came out positive. She experienced shortness of breath.

The woman is staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 115th case is a 51-year-old female LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Macabalan. She arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on July 10 and was swabbed on July 16. Her test yielded a positive result on July 18.

Retuya said she has a history of hyperacidity and was treated for her comorbidity. The woman is asymptomatic and currently staying at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 116th case is a 27-year-old male LSI from Manila and a resident of Barangay Consolacion. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via sea travel on July 10 and was swabbed on July 16.

The result came out positive on July 18. The man is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 117th case is a 43-year-old male ROF and a resident of Barangay Bugo. He arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on July 4, where he was swabbed and the result came out negative on July 8.

Retuya said the man stayed in an accommodation facility in Manila on July 4 until 12. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro on July 13 via plane. He was swabbed and the test yielded a positive result on July 19.

The man is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The 118th case is a 47-year-old male ROF and a resident of Barangay Bulua. He arrived at NAIA on July 7, where he was swabbed. The result came out negative on July 12.

Retuya said the patient stayed in an accommodation facility in Manila while waiting for the result. He arrived in Cagayan de Oro via plane on July 13 and was swabbed on July 16. The result came out positive.

The man is asymptomatic and currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.
