Dumaguete honors Barangay 8 SK for Covid-19 response effort

DUMAGUETE City has honored the Sangguniang Kabataan (SC) Council of Barangay Poblacion 08 for placing second in the national search for the Most Outstanding SK Response on Coivd-19 Video Report Contest.

The SK council, headed by Renz Macion, has integrated their Covid-19 response with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their program Kabalikat sa Kalusugan para sa Katipunan ng Kabataan or "KK para sa KK."

The project has achieved its goal with the participation of the members of the barangay for a better, inclusive and impactful Covid-19 response to their community.

In a regular session, the City Council presented to Macion, the SK Sanggunian, and Poblacion 8 Punong Barangay Maelyne Rose Mariano the official resolution of commendation for their efforts that brought honor and distinction to Dumaguete City.

The Poblacion 8 officials also paid a courtesy call on Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, who has been supportive of their projects and activities in trying to manage the effects and impact of Covid-19 pandemic in the community.

The national search involving more than a hundred competing entries was organized by the Office of the National Youth Commissioner Victor Del Rosario and supported by Ang Probinsyano Partylist.

The SK council will be granted with P20,000 worth of cash prize to sustain their Covid-19 response programs by the National Youth Commission. (PIA)
