Cagayan de Oro's 122nd Covid-19 case is an Apor

AN AUTHORIZED Person Outside of Residence (Apor) has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the total confirmed cases in Cagayan de Oro to 122.

The 122nd case is a 32-year-old male Apor and a resident of Barangay Lumbia. According to City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, the man has a travel history to places with local transmission in Northern Mindanao and outside the region from July 13 to 16.

The man was swabbed on July 21 and the result came out positive on July 22.

Retuya said the 32-year-old man has shown signs and symptoms of the virus. He's currently staying at the city isolation unit.

The City Health Office identified 16 close contacts of the man involving his family members and co-workers.

The health office also recorded seven cases who tested positive after they were re-swabbed: the 50th case from Barangay Camaman-an; 55th case from Barangay Lapasan; 72nd case from Barangay Nazareth; 80th case from Barangay Bugo; 84th case from Barangay Tablon; 87th case from Barangay Macabalan; and 88th case from Barangay Macasandig.

Meanwhile, as of July 22, Northern Mindanao recorded eight new confirmed Covid-19 cases, wherein one is an Apor from Cagayan de Oro, while seven are returning overseas Filipino workers and locally stranded individuals in Bukidnon (1), Lanao del Norte (1), Misamis Oriental (4) and Iligan City (1).

This brings the number of Covid-19 cases in the region to 438.
