AT LEAST two sets of state-of-the-art Flus non-contact forehead thermometer were installed Friday, July 24, in Aklan to monitor people with possible coronavirus infection.
Aklan Second District Representative Teodorico Haresco said the equipment, made in Sweden, was donated by the Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation Inc. The equipment, which include facial imaging, is worth at least P3 million.
"The equipment is part of the province's preparation of welcoming back our tourists bound to Boracay. Through this, we could guarantee to tourists that we have an effective and modern tool in our campaign against Covid-19," he said.
Michael Cornelio Christopher Pacia, representative of the Ongpin Foundation, said the facility is the first in the country.
"We decided to donate these both at the Kalibo International Airport and at the Caticlan Jetty Port to revive the economy," Pacia said.
"We had previous donation but the facial imaging was not included. Now, our donation includes such features," he added. (SunStar Philippines)
