Concepcion mayor lifts lockdown order

MABALACAT CITY -- The mayor of Concepcion town in Tarlac province has lifted the lockdown order he issued that gave way for a contact tracing after six residents tested positive of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Mayor Andy Lacson said the municipality-wide total lockdown ended at midnight on July 24, five hours ahead of the schedule supposedly lasted at 5 p.m. on July 25.

The mayor said the lockdown was lifted earlier after the successful identification and extraction of the patients' close contacts which was completed on Friday.

Some 11 individuals underwent swab test at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital, Lacson said.

Some 29 individuals, categorized as direct contacts of the six patients, also underwent swab testing, according to Lacson.

Nine of them, who are senior citizens, were placed under home quarantine, the official added.

The Department of Health advised that the nine patients, who turned out to be asymptomatic, may stay in their respective residences.

During the contact tracing, the City Government has identified 52 suspected Covid-19 patients categorized as second and third generation and all of them underwent rapid testing, the mayor added.

Lacson appealed to his constituents to pray for the patients and all of the persons they interacted with.
