DTI launches new livelihood program in Tarlac

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Trade and Industry in partnership with local Negosyo Center launched a new livelihood program in Tarlac town recently.

The program dubbed as Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships between relevant local government units (LGUs).

Through the Barangay Development Councils (BDCs), DTI shall help capacitate Barangay personnel to provide basic business advisory or information dissemination services to MSMEs in the locality.

Under the said program, individual package of livelihood kits that could help businesses affected by catastrophic events such as pandemic are given.

During the event, food processing kits were also awarded to seven individuals from the Camilimg town in the said province.

The chosen beneficiaries were initially evaluated by DTI with the help of Bilad Barangay Council and the municipal mayor.
