Minalin town has 2 new Covid-19 cases

THE number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Minalin continues to rise after two more residents tested positive for the virus.

Mayor Edgar Flores said the fresh cases were recorded in Barangays Sto. Domingo and Sta. Maria.

The first patient is a 45-year-old woman from Barangay Sto. Domingo who was asymptomatic but underwent swab testing after being identified as close contact of the town's 10th confirmed case.

The second patient, meanwhile, is not related to any past cases and may have contracted the disease in his workplace, Flores said.

He said the 29-year-old male patient is an employee of Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation in Angeles City, which was recently closed due to Covid-19 positive employees.

The patient, however, was deployed at the gaming center of King's Royale in Bacolor town.

As of Monday afternoon, July 27, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in this town has reached 18.

Meanwhile, aside from the fresh cases, Flores also reported three new recoveries from its active cases. These were patients 3, 4 and 8 who are all from Barangay Sto. Domingo.
