MANILA -- After the resignation of Lakas-Kampi-CMD party chairman Gilberto Teodoro, ruling party president Saranggani Governor Miguel Dominguez on Wednesday also tendered his resignation.
Dominguez said he would want to give the incoming chairman a free hand to choose who he prefers to be his president.
“To the national executive committee of Lakas Kampi Command, I hereby tender my resignation as party president effective immediately. With the recent resignation of our chairman Gilbert C. Teodoro Jr., I would like to give the incoming chairman a free hand to select his new president. I would like to thank the national executive committee and Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal Arroyo for the trust and confidence given to me,” text of his resignation letter stated.
Teodoro on Tuesday resigned as party chairman due to his decision to focus on his presidential campaign and allow the party to have a full time chairman who could attend to the needs of the ruling party.
Malacanang expressed concern over the resignation of some administration party stalwarts but they refused to comment further, saying it is a matter better left to the party. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
