Baby from Guagua among Covid cases

GUAGUA -- Mayor Dante Torres confirmed on Thursday, July 30, 2020, that an eight-month-old baby is among the latest confirmed cases of coronavirus infection reported here.

The baby, however, is not a resident of Guagua but initially stayed with relatives before being assigned to a healthcare facility after testing positive. Torres said that the baby’s parents are coronavirus patients from the City of San Fernando.

Relatives of the baby, two grandparents, have also turned positive in the latest swab tests. Torres said that there are now two confirmed coronavirus cases in Barangay Natividad.

The said patient is the youngest confirmed coronavirus case in Pampanga and among the youngest in Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, Torres also reported that an employee of the Pampanga 2 Electric Cooperative from Barangay San Agustin has also tested positive. The employee is a close contact of the first confirmed positive case from the said power cooperative.

“We have ordered the containment of the areas concerned and we assure that all necessary support will be given to all those infected and those considered as close contacts,” Torres said.
