1 dies, 2 hurt in grenade attack

ONE person died, while two others were wounded in a grenade attack in a remote village in Zamboanga City, the police reported Thursday, July 30.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula spokesperson, said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Thursday in Sitio Baluno in Bunguiao village.

Duco identified the fatality as Radzkil Asari, who died instantaneously.

Wounded were Mohammad Jainal Ammad and Ersa Asari. They were hospitalized.

Duco said investigation showed that the victims were in deep slumber when an unidentified person tossed a grenade into their house.

Duco said investigation continues to establish the motive and identify the perpetrator. (SunStar Zamboanga)
