Workouts don’t work?

The Path

WE ALL are humbled by this pandemic that we are reminded no one is unsusceptible.

We are forced to stay home or risk catching the virus that would affect not only us but also the people around us, most especially our loved ones.

What drives us to follow is love. Love for our life and love for the lives of our family.

When we're told to stay at home due to this virus, we followed, and it was treated as a vacation for some because work was suspended.

But we all know what happens when we stay at home. Aside from boredom and missing the outdoors, we tend to indulge in unhealthy snacks while being a couch potato.

Result? Growing of unwanted fats. This is alarming that after a month of enjoying boodles and being lazy, many planned to get back in shape and search for workout routines on the internet.

Some even went on a diet. But a bigger percentage quit along the process, saying the workout or diet does not work, so they search for a new workout or diet then it becomes a cycle without result.

So, what happened? Did the workout or diet fail?

Here are the stages involved in your stint with the workout. First, is planning which include your decision to go on a workout, and choosing one for you to undergo; next is the process where you start with your routine, making it part of your daily schedule but in this stage, the first sign of pain becomes the reason for quitting just after three days or a week.

It is in this process where the failure occurs. It is also the stage where the workout is judged to be ineffective but is it? Or is it one of those things they term as user error?

The problem is not the workout, but the individual who lacks the value to meet the objective.

We quit before it shows signs of effectivity. We seek an instant result that is impossible to achieve without repercussions. We always tend to look for the fast forward button that does not exist. The seeming lack of commitment to achieve the goal is very low, and our lack of patience makes any workout or diet fail, us as the culprit.

For a workout to be effective, we must learn the value of commitment and patience.

Quitting is one of the greatest enemies of success. A workout does work but learn to work with determination, dedication and commitment. Start, execute and sustain your workout and you will see results in due time.
