OFFICIALS of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and Municipal Government of Guagua led the inauguration of the two-story Provincial Training Center that is set to be the venue for various skills training courses of programs of Tesda.
The inauguration was led by Tesda Regional Director Jesus Fajardo, Mayor Dante Torres, Tesda Pampanga Director Eric Ueda and Pampanga Second District Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres.
Fajardo hailed the current partnership of Tesda and the Provincial Government as a big step in bringing in much needed skills training especially during the ongoing pandemic.
Fajardo said more programs and trainings will be conducted in the coming months.
"I also assure our officials in Pampanga of the equitable distribution of training scholarships," Fajardo said, adding that much of programs put on hold by the coronavirus will soon start in Pampanga.
Torres lauded the efforts of the Tesda in Pampanga, particularly its support for training programs in Guagua.
Torres said the town is urging Tesda to provide trainings on agri and aqua culture, which are among the core industries in Guagua.
The P10 million worth Pampanga Training Center (PTC) in Barangay Santa Ursula was formally awarded its Certificate of Technical Education and Training Program Registration (CTPR) in October 2019.
Tesda representative Florencio Sunico Jr. formally awarded the CTPR. Torres received it on behalf of the Guagua Municipal Government.
The PTC is the first of its kind in Pampanga. Funding for the project was sourced from congressional budget.
The facility will operate under a usufruct agreement in which Tesda will utilize the said facility as launching pad for its various training programs in the area.
CTPR was issued by Tesda to certify that the training that will be provided by the facility is within the core competency and regulation of the agency.
Torres said the full operation of the PTC in Guagua town will enable the training of more skilled manpower for the various industries within the town and the province.
