AUTHORITIES released on Friday, July 31, 2020, the composite sketch of one of the assailants who killed National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) chief Roland Cortez.

Police Major Elmer Monsalve, Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit chief, said one of the witnesses was able to describe the man who served as the “spotter”.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has created a special investigation task force to look into Cortez’s killing.

Monsalve said investigators were able to obtain CCTV footage to identify the assailants.

He said Cortez received death threats prior to the incident.

QCPD director Brigadier General Ronnie Montejo said the attack could be related to the victim’s work at the NCMH.

Cortez was gunned down in the morning of Monday, July 27, along with his driver in Barangay Culiat in Quezon City. (SunStar Philippines)
