Covid-19 cases in Angeles climb to 60

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city has climbed to 60 as of July 30, 2020.

He said 34 of the 60 patients had recovered from the disease.

The city has 22 active cases, according to Lazatin.

Of the 22 active cases, eight of the patients are from Barangay Balibago, two in Cutcut, two in Margot, three in Santo Domingo, one in Malabanias, one in Pandan, one in Pulung Cacutud, one in Pulung Maragul and one in San Nicolas.

Lazatin urged non-residents to defer their visit in the city if it is non-essential.

The mayor recently ordered for a strict screening of people going into the city following the surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Majority of the patients acquired the virus from other places, Lazatin said.

Most of the patients in the city were infected in Metro Manila based on the contact tracing conducted by the City Government, he added.
