Homegrown delivery mobile app launched

WITH the sudden shift to e-commerce due to the pandemic, Cebu’s first homegrown full-service food and delivery app Let’s Eat Bai (LEB) has put at least 4,000 Cebuano foodpreneurs onboard.

JP Chiongbian, president of LEB Holdings Inc., said the app features services and a wide variety of selections from local institutions and startup entrepreneurs fulfilling food and parcel needs.

“We are the only platform in the entire Philippines with start-up entrepreneurial incubator where sellers can continue their dream of being an entrepreneur,” he said during a Zoom conference, Thursday, July 30.

With almost 120,000 members in their Let’s Eat Bai Facebook page, Chiongbian said this is an evident sign of e-commerce’s accessibility to Cebuanos, especially when it comes to food.

“Brick and mortar is not going to be the number one point of sale; digital is now the way to go,” he said.

Moreover, the group also developed a Certified Vendors Program that helps foodpreneurs become a legal business entity complete with the necessary registrations from the

Department of Trade and Industry, the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Cebu City Government. The program has a registration fee of P500.

Analytics

Besides LEB’s delivery feature, Chiongbian said the app also allows startups to access data analytics, which can help them make better business decisions.

LEB eyes to serve the markets of Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Talisay, Liloan, Naga and Minglanilla. It now has 120 delivery riders.

Chiongbian said LEB gets 10 percent for every delivery service, which he noted is considerably lower than that of other food delivery services.

LEB said it aims to organize both online sellers and consumers with partnerships from industry leaders of cashless transactions and delivery services to make it more accessible and have a better experience to everyone when searching, buying and having it delivered online.

It has cash on delivery and other digital payment options for the buyers. The app is available in Andriod platform. (JOB)
