Riding-in-tandem kill chef

A CHEF was killed by riding-in-tandem gunmen in a remote village of Zamboanga del Sur province, the police reported Saturday, August 1, 2020.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula spokesperson, identified the victim as Genesis Montillano Manisan, 26, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Duco said that Manisan was shot and killed around 4:05 a.m. Friday in Purok 4 in Lourmah village, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Duco said investigation showed that Manisan was driving a motorcycle on the way to an eatery when repeated shot by one of two men riding tandem on another motorcycle that tailed the victim.

He said that Manisan was rushed to the Mahayag Municipal Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

He said the suspects sped towards the national highway of Poblacion village in Mahayag after the incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
