3 NPA members arrested in Isabela

THREE Yunit Militia Members of Central Negros 1, Leonardo Panaligan Command-New People's Army (CN1, LPC-NPA) were around in Barangay San Agustin, Isabela during the implementation of search warrant by the joint forces of the army and the PNP on August 2.

Armed with three search warrants for violations of R.A 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulations Act) dated July 30, 2020 issued by Judge Cyclamen Jison Fernandez, Executive Judge Regional Trial Court Branch No. 63 in La Carlota City, the personnel of the 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion together with the 2nd Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office Mobile Force Company (NOCPMFC) and the Isabela Municipal Police Station launched the joint operation in So. Mahopaho, Brgy San Agustin, which resulted to the successful arrest of Weniefredo Carillo Sr.,.alias Wennie, Vice Commander of Yunit Militia, 51years old, married; Martillano Lindayao alias Marting, 46 years old, married and Dimas Lindayao alias Laydan, 40 years old.

The joint operating forces also recovered one caliber 45 pistol with one magazine and six live ammunitions of .45 cal, and two units of caliber 38 revolver with nine live ammunitions from their possession.

Based on the PNP records, alias Laydan has been charged before of Crime Case No. 4088 for double murder case. Arrested persons were brought to Isabela Municipal Police Station (MPS) for documentation and proper disposition.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Melvin N Flores, Acting Commanding Officer of the 62IB lauded the successful joint effort of Army and the PNP. The 62IB and Philippine National Police in Central Negros assure the public safety and that the government will exercise all legal means to ensure that our Negrenses will not succumb to the threat of the NPAs. The successful operation is a result of concerted intel-driven operations.

The LPC-NPA continuously suffered setbacks because of the increasing number of rebel returnees and successive arrests of communist personalities in Negros Island. The ELCAC in Central Negros unceasingly encourages all the active members of CPP-NPA Terrorists and Yunit Militia to surrender and avail the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) along with financial assistance and livelihood.

“The Whole-of-Nation Approach with its ELCAC mechanism have contributed well to the success of this operation. Through you and the people of Negros, we can win peace,” Flores said.
