ANG bag-ong natudlo nga Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gilbert Gapay nisaad nga iyang prayoridad ang pagpatuman sa bag-o lang napasar nga Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 bisan sa coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
Sa usa ka press conference human sa turnover of command ceremony, si Gapay niingon nga sila nisugyot nga iapil ang social media regulations sa Implementing rules and regulations sa balaud.
Siya nipasabot nga ang mga teroristang grupo nagpahimus sa social media aron paghiimong radical sa mga batan-on ug pagplano sa ilang mga pagpangatake.
“We will be providing some inputs on countering violent extremism and likewise maybe even regulating social media. This is the platform now being used by the terrorists to radicalize and even plan terrorist acts,” nagkanayon Gapay.
“That’s why we need to have specific provisions in the IRR pertaining to regulating the use of social media and, of course, likewise regulating materials in the manufacture of IEDs,” siya nidugang.
Siya nisugyot sa pagpalig-on sa pagpasaw-anay sa impormasyon tali sa AFP ug local ug mga conterpart sa abroad kay ang terorismo suliran sa tibuok kalibutan.
Gipahimug-atan usab ni Gapay ang panginahanglan sa pagpalig-on sa seguridad sa kadagatan aron mapugngan ang langyaw nga mga terorista sa pagsulod sa nasod.
Si Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenza niingon nga ang IRR sa balaud padayon pang gihimo apan siya naneguro nga ilang gikonsiderar ang mga sugyot sa AFP.
Samtang si Gapay niingon nga ang kasungian sa West Philippine Sea hatagan og pagtagad base sa balaud “without undermining the country’s national interest.”
Iyang gitataw nga way mando gikan sa taas nga mga buhatan sa pag-undang sa pagpatrolya sa gikasungian bahin sa kadagtaan.
“Still, as part of the national direction in addressing the West Philippine Sea issue, we still abide by resolving this conflict or issues peacefully and based on the rule of law. That’s our guarding principles and as we perform our mandate in upholding our sovereignty and preserving our territorial integrity in that Western part of the country,” siya niingon.
