LIFE has been tough for close to five months to most people since the coronavirus has reached the Philippine soil through international and local transmissions.

Covid-19 has scared a lot of people and has overwhelmed the medical frontliners with the increasing number of positive cases being logged every day.

Potential carriers are mostly the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and authorized persons outside of residence (Apors) who have travel history in various places either abroad and in the country with high prevalence of Covid-19 cases.

Many have suffered from this ordeal not just the patients themselves but also those who lost their jobs and income due to the implementation of community quarantines and lockdowns.

But what is heartwarming is when love and gratitude are expressed for those who were working steadfastly in order to facilitate the smooth recovery of those who were tested positive and were quarantined.

A locally stranded individual (LSI) who has completed a 14-day mandatory quarantine took the chance to express his gratitude to the team of frontliners from the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) and other agencies led by Councilor Cindy Rojas as said LSI was touched by their satisfactory handling of their quarantine.

The LSI left a beautiful note but never disclosed his identity.

"To the kitchen staff, salamat gd. Namit inyo food," reads a note left in the quarantine room by one of the LSIs.

"Simple, yet this gives our Team DSSD a whole load of inspiration and makes all the cuts, burns, aching backs, and sore feet all worth it.

Thank you to whoever you are, for appreciating the loving hands that prepare all your meals," Councilor Rojas said.

Rojas further urged everyone to do their part in the fight versus Covid-19.
