Subdivision in Magalang placed under localized lockdown

THE local government of Magalang has placed a subdivision under a localized temporary lockdown after three members of a family living in the area were infected with coronavirus.

A medical frontline worker from the City of San Fernando reportedly visited the family at Nuevo Vista Vile in Barangay San Jose on July 25, 2020.

The frontliner, who tested positive for coronavirus on July 31, is now confined at the Asean Convention Center inside the Clark Freeport.

The three patients, who tested positive on August 3, include a 58-year-old man, his 57-year-old wife, and a six-month old baby.

The town's Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) said the family voluntarily underwent swab tests after the source patient tested positive for the virus.

Mayor Romulo Pecson directed the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to distribute food packs to the residents of said village.

The mayor also ordered the Municipal Health Office to coordinate the transfer of the three patients -- M9, M10, and M11 to a government quarantine facility.

The local government unit sent a team of workers to disinfect the subdivision, according to Pecson.

"We are appealing to all Magalenos to follow the health protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in our municipality," the mayor said.
