New patients in Angeles contract virus from birthday party, fiesta

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said that some of the new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients were infected in birthday party and fiesta celebration.

With this, the mayor asked his constituents to avoid social gatherings as cases in the city climbed to 88 as of August 3.

Lazatin issued his warning to the residents after the City Government observed that many people are violating safety protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the city.

Some barangay councilmen in the city were also reported joining liquor drinking sessions at uploaded their gatherings on Facebook social media.

Many people are not wearing their face masks, according to the local chief executive.

Minors are violating the curfew, Lazatin said.

Lazatin said he had directed the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the city and the barangay leaders to apprehend individuals violating the quarantine protocols.

The mayor appealed to the residents to cooperate and support the government in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
