Zamboanga City Covid-19 cases rise to 640

THE number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Zamboanga City has increased to 640 with 18 new cases recorded on Monday, August 3.

The local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Covid-19 said that most of the new cases were acquired through community transmission.

The local IATF Covid-19 said the new cases were tagged as ZC623 to ZC640 and most of whom are currently housed in isolation facilities and hospitals.

The task force said ZC623 and ZC624 are both from Kasanyangan village and admitted at the government-owned Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC). They are aged 47 female and 13 male, respectively.

ZC625 and ZC626 are also both confined at the ZCMC. They were identified as a 45-year-old male from Tetuan village and a 22-year-old male from Sta. Maria village.

ZC626 is a close contact of ZC617, a 55-year-old male from Sta. Maria village, who was admitted to the ZCMC.

ZC627 is a 63-year-old female from Baliwasan village and is admitted in a private hospital.

ZC628 to ZC630 are all male and housed at the Ecozone Isolation facility. They are aged 49, 45, and 37, respectively.

ZC631 to ZC635 are all housed at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU)-Lantaka campus. They are aged 34 (male), 35 (female), 39 (male), 58 (male), and 39 male, respectively.

The task force said that ZC631, ZC632, ZC634 and ZC635 are close contacts of ZC608, a 31-year-old female from Kasanyangan village and is also isolated at the ADZU-Lantaka campus.

ZC636 to ZC639 are all residents of Calarian village and isolated at the Cabatangan Isolation Facility.

They are all males and aged 33, 48, 31, and 33, respectively.

ZC640 is a 27-year-old female from Lunzuran village who has been isolated at the Cabatangan-Department of Health Isolation Facility.

Meanwhile, the task force said the total number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19 is now at 343, while 20 had died.
