Masantol LGU regulates entry of deliverymen of online platforms

AS ADDITIONAL protective measure against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the local government of Masantol is regulating the entry of online delivery persons in the municipality.

Mayor Danilo Guintu signed Executive Order 030 series of 2020, which prohibits the entry of non-essential goods from online market platforms such as Lazada, Shoppee, Zalora and Grab.

The mayor advised residents to pick up their parcels at the border checkpoint instead, provided that these adhere to minimum health standards.

Deliveries from online sellers coming from within the municipality, meanwhile, are allowed to conduct business but subject to safety protocols, Guintu said.

He said the new measure aims to continuously ensure the protection of the community and its people from Covid-19, as Masantol remains the only municipality free from the dreaded virus as of Thursday noon, August 6.
