CEB requires mandatory wearing of face shields among passengers

AIRLINE carrier Cebu Pacific will now require its passengers to wear face shields during the entire flight starting on Aug. 15, 2020.

In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said such move is line with directives from the Philippine government to beef up sanitary and safety protocol.

“This is on top of the mandatory use of face masks upon entering the airport terminal until arrival at the destination,” the advisory reads.

The airline assured that it continues to implement enhanced bio-security preventive measures to keep their passengers and personnel safe.

“These safety measures include daily extensive cleaning and disinfection protocols for all aircraft and facilities, rapid antibody testing for all frontliners and crew and contactless flight procedures. These are based on global best practices, and adhere to the highest safety standards,” Cebu Pacific said.

Manila flights cancelled

Meanwhile, all Cebu Pacific and Cebgo flights to and from Manila are cancelled until Aug. 18, 2020.

This is due to the imposition of modified enhanced community quarantine over Metro Manila and adjacent provinces, and continued community quarantine over the rest of the country.

CEB has also adjusted its policies—allowing for increased flexibility and added peace of mind given the developing situation for air travel.

These options include unlimited rebooking and extension of the Travel Fund validity to two years. (JOB with PR)
