4 doctors, 2 nurses at CLMMRH test positive for Covid-19

BACOLOD Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran on Thursday, August 6, 2020, said that the situation at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) is getting worse after four of its doctors and two nurses tested positive for Covid-19.

"Our doctors and nurses are overwhelmed and some of the departments of the said hospital were temporarily closed such as the out-patient department, among others," Familiaran, who is also the chairperson of the Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force against coronavirus disease (Covid-19), said.

He added that because of this, CLMMRH cannot accept patients for a check-up.

As of August 5, Bacolod City has a total of 332 Covid-19 cases, of which 70 are recoveries, 254 are active cases and eight are mortalities.

"It's now getting worse and worse and I don't know what other measures will do to prevent the spread of the virus. We are now exhausted so we are asking the cooperation of the public. Your safety is in your hands," Familiaran said.

He said it's expected that by December, the Covid-19 cases in Bacolod will reach thousands because of the local transmission.
